Benefits of Maintaining your HVAC Unit

June 25, 2012

A typical summer in Oklahoma involves days (and sometimes weeks) of scorching temperatures in the upper 90s and low 100s. When it gets this hot, most of us seek refuge from the miserable heat by staying inside our cool and comfortable, air-conditioned homes. Since our air conditioning units are working overtime during these sweltering months, Chad Tolle, Ideal Homes Director of Customer Care, has some tips on how to keep your AC unit working at an optimum level so you can stay cool and save money on your utility bills.   He recommends that HVAC units should be serviced twice a year to maintain performance. Keeping the unit maintained will cost homeowners less money in the long run because it will run more efficiently and prevent future problems. Chad also encourages homeowners to get on a service plan with a reputable company like A1 Heat and Air.   Also remember to replace your home's air filters at least once a month. Clogged filters will make your HVAC unit work harder to keep your home cool. Clean filters ensure optimum air flow and less energy use. Have you checked your air filters lately? If they have signs of dust, replace them as soon as possible.
