An IDEAL 2021 Year in Review

As 2021 comes to an end, we’re reflecting on the incredible year we’ve had with amazing homeowners, partners, community organizations, and team. One of the highlights of this year has been the opportunity to give back to our community in a way we’ve never been able to before.  This year, more than 40 local organizations, facilities, and families received support from Ideal Homes & Neighborhoods and our employees. 

This year has seen the highest demand for the housing industry in the past 20 years, especially in Oklahoma. The growth and demographics within our state are outstanding. By the end of 2021, we will have closed on nearly 600 new homes and doubled the size of the company within the last three years. That means hundreds of Oklahoma residents now have a new place to call home and we’re thrilled to be able to be a part of each of those homeowners’ lives. 

In 2021 we’ve all faced challenges as well… a pandemic, national supply chain crisis, inflation, and so much more. We have had to rely on the relationships we have built with the community and our partners over the past 30 years. President of Ideal Homes & Neighborhoods, Steve Shoemaker, says we owe a big part of our success to our trades and suppliers that build our homes. “Those trade partners are the ones building the homes and hammering in every nail,” says Shoemaker. 

Along with the relationships outside the company, the company’s success this year is due in large part to the amazing culture created by the 120 employees who work here. Ideal Homes & Neighborhoods employees thrive on serving customers and giving back to our community. That dedication to customer service shows in the numbers as well. A third of Ideal’s revenue is impacted by referrals. That means almost 200 of our new homeowners this year are either current Ideal homeowners buying their second, third, or fourth Ideal home or heard from happy homeowners telling their friends and family about their experience. Excellent customer service not only brings our homeowners joy but makes Ideal Homes & Neighborhoods an incredible place to work.

For more than a decade, Ideal Homes & Neighborhoods has built Edmond’s Valencia neighborhood and has continuously been a top-selling community in the Oklahoma metro area. Now completely sold out of homesites in this 600-acre development, new neighborhoods and cities are coming in 2022 and 2023 that will excite both new and current customers. We are excited to start a new year with more opportunity than ever to continue to build and strengthen the company and community.
