Friday Events Heat Up In Oklahoma City

As the weather gets nicer in and around Oklahoma City the patio furniture explodes out onto outdoor patios and sidewalk cafes and festivals abound to get everyone outside to enjoy the weather. Fridays are always a special day: the end of the workweek, the beginning of the weekend, and a time to enjoy festivals. Here are a few you should check out as you ease into the beautiful weather. First Friday Art Walk in The Historic Paseo Art District - This event is held the first Friday and Saturday of each month from 6pm Friday night to 10pm Saturday evening and features over 60 artists and 17 galleries in walking distance. First Friday Wine Share  - This unique national website with branches in both Oklahoma City and Edmond, Oklahoma, is all about getting together with others who are intrested in wine. This site is dedicated to bringing new people, new businesses and new wines together. Check out the site to see a schedule of locations. 2nd Friday Circuit of Art - This is a monthly celebration of the arts in Norman that connects the downtown arts district with outlying galleries, performance halls and Campus Corner. For one night a month the whole town of Norman becomes an art district, featuring music, visual arts and much more. Live on The Plaza - Every 2nd Friday of the month, Oklahoma City's Plaza District comes alive with an art walk featuring local artists, live music, deadCENTER film screenings, local retail shopping and much more. The Norman Music Festival - This one doesn't happen every Friday but it's coming up quick! April 25- April 27 this annual event features over 100 bands on numerous stages. This free event will take place on the 100, 200 and 300 block of historic Downtown E. Main Street in the Norman. Saturday will feature the full blown festival atmosphere.
