Who doesn’t love a rocking chair?! A favorite pastime in the south is spending porch time in a comfortable rocker. It’s an ideal way to relax and get rid of the cares of the day. Maybe even lower your blood pressure a few points.

If you don’t have a rocker on your Ideal Homes porch or patio, there’s no better time to find one. There are plenty to choose from right here in the metro or find your favorite online. Price points range from about $99 to whatever your budget will allow. Choose your favorite material, color, shape, and size. There’s something for everyone.

Here are a few ideal looking rockers we discovered:

Check out your local Tractor Supply store. We found lots to choose from … wooden, wicker, camp chairs, and resin. Padded and plain in a variety of prices, starting at about $150. This Sunnydaze Décor patio rocking chair looks stylish and comfy and goes for $149.99: tractorsupply.com. Online orders only.

Looking for something a little upscale that won’t break the bank? Try Mathis Brothers; they offer a good selection of patio rockers and regular patio chairs to match. Prices start at about $285 and go up from there. This particular swivel rocker goes for $282.95 and is in stock: mathisbrothers.com.

Lowe’s is another retailer with a good selection of patio furniture, ranging from wicker to plastic to wood and metal. With and without cushions. Prices range from about $55 for a white plastic frame rocker to close to $1,000. This Hanover plastic frame rocking chair with a throwback Adirondack look for $399 would look so cool by the pool! Love the color options. Lowes.com

If you’re looking for a wooden or Polywood slat rocker, don’t miss Cracker Barrel. Yes, Cracker Barrel. They have Americana-style rockers in several styles you can try on their front porch. Visit one of their locations, have a meal, and rock a while on their porch. Prices run about $140–$265, and their rockers are weather-resistant, too.

Retro metal tulip chairs are always fun and can be found at Target.com and Walmart.com in a variety of colors.  Walmart also carries retro square-back spring chairs for about $200 a pair. Although technically not a rocking chair, you can get the same comfortable rocking motion from these cool spring chairs and gliders. Spring chairs are priced in the $80 range; single-seat glider chairs run about $150. You’ll have to assemble these yourself, but what colorful fun for your patio pleasure!

If you have your heart set on creating a totally out-of-this-world outdoor living space, you might want to visit one of OKC’s premier patio shops: Seasonal Living. This store carries high-end everything that you’ll need for an ultimate patio experience.

Whatever your budget or style, find yourself a rocker and start enjoying the great outdoors from a rocking chair. They’re not just for retirement centers anymore! Find your ideal chair and schedule a little time for some R & R!
