Some OKC End of Summer Events!

It's time to go back-to-school for the kids, but if you are still looking for a few family friendly events around Oklahoma City, here are a few activities nearby many of the Ideal Homes neighborhoods.2ND-movies Check out the events calendar for the Myriad Botanical Gardens & Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. There are still some Acoustic Thursdays coming up by the Ice House and Park House. If weekends work better for you, Saturday night don't miss the Park Outdoor Movies, and there are still more concerts in the Sunday Twilight Concert Series. For active events, on the 10th there is a full moon bike ride. And just for the kids, on Tuesdays you can come to the Children's Garden for kid-friendly activities and tastings of edibles grown in the garden. With lots of home games, it's a great evening escape. Don't forget the hot dogs and cracker jacks. If baseball isn't your speed, but you like soccer, you can still take in our local pro soccer team the Energy FC. Check out their website for more details on tickets and home games. If you are a little bit cowboy or you just like watching some barrel racing, there's still time to attend the 16th Annual Summer ShootOut August 14-17 at the Oklahoma City State Fairgrounds. Listen up because we have a story to tell you....you can enjoy a few tall tales, or learn how to tell them yourself at the 34th Annual Oklahoma City Storytelling Festival between August 21-23 at the Oklahoma History Center. With so much still to do in the OKC metro before the kids go back to school, take advantage of these and other activities in and around the area.
