Praiseworthy paint colors for your home’s interior

The simplest way to change a room starts with a can of paint. You can go from neutral to vibrant, or the other way around. Create an accent wall for a splash of color. Where do you start? How do you choose the paint color that suits you, your style and the room? We asked the creative team in our Design Center to find out what’s trending. Kelly-Moore Paints announced Kettleman” (KM5818) as it 2017 Color of the Year. “This deep gray hue is neutral, yet versatile. The color was chosen by a nationwide group of 15,000 ASID-certified interior designers. They agreed Kettleman works great with all wood tones, neutrals, whites, and today’s current home décor trends.  Kelly-Moore Paint’s 2017 color of the year, Kettleman, adds richness to this home’s study in Ideal Homes’ Castlewood Trails community in Yukon, OK “Golden Pilsner” is rich mustard brown color that brings warmth to any room. It works well in kitchens, with the abundance of white or stained cabinets and natural stone (granite, quartz, marble) countertops. The neutral value of Golden Pilsner also lends itself to accent walls.  A warm brown paint color, like Kelly-Moore’s Golden Pilsner, provides the perfect accent to the wood and stone in a kitchen. Our designers also like the vibrant effect of green, one of this year’s hottest interior paint color trends. Grassy green adds energy to a room, whether you paint all the walls, use it as an accent, or even just a door. We like Kelly-Moore’s Graceland Grass, which is a slightly deeper shade of green.  Add shades of green anywhere in your house. We used Kelly-Moore’s Graceland Grass on this barn door. “Neutral” no longer reflects a color that blends into the background. We’re seeing everything from greater hints of color to rich hues. Kelly Moore’s “Balsamic Reduction” is aptly named for this deep charcoal paint color, and our Design Center recommended it for the cabinets in one of our homes in Little River Trails. They also said that a neutral on the other end of the spectrum. “Zebra Finch”, provides the “greige” look that offers color, with plenty of versatility for decorating options.
