Whether it’s the lights and rides on the midway, the smell, and taste of “fair” food, or just plain people-watching, there’s something for everyone at the Oklahoma State Fair, and it’s that time of year again. This year’s fair will run from Sept. 15th–25th and feature some all-time favorites like Disney On Ice, Xtreme Bulls & Broncs, livestock judging, and music galore.

If you’re new to Oklahoma, this is one event you don’t want to miss. The fair is popular with all ages and attracts about a million people each year. The Oklahoma City Fairgrounds are on the south side of NW 10th Street between May Avenue and Portland Avenue, plus there’s plenty of free parking available.


Gate Admission

Tickets are available online for outside gate admission and the price varies by age. 

Adults 12 and older: $8

Children ages 6–11, $4

Children 5 and under are free.

Disney On Ice

Road Trip Adventures

Runs Thursday, Sept. 15th through Monday, Sept. 19th

Tickets range from $20 to $65 per person.

Ticket purchases on or before Sept. 14 include outside gate admission; an additional outside gate admission ticket is required if tickets are purchased after Sept. 14.


Xtreme Bulls & Broncs

Runs Sept.23 & 24, 7:30 p.m.

Jim Norick Arena

Tickets range from $30 to $45 per person

Ticket purchases on or before Sept. 14 include outside gate admission; an additional outside gate admission ticket is required if tickets are purchased after Sept. 14.


Performers include Trace Adkins on Friday night and Chris Janson on Saturday night.

Midway

Thrills, chills, screams, and smiles are all part of the carnival that’s been a part of the Oklahoma State Fair for more than a century. The Midway is filled with sights and sounds you can only experience once a year, but the memories will last forever!


Additional ride credits (now 100% digital) or armbands are required for carnival rides. Information on advance purchase for armbands is available online; discounts are available for early bird purchase through Sept. 14. Or you may purchase armbands at any carnival ticket booth.

Sky Eye Park

Entertainment Plaza


Experience the ride of a lifetime aboard North America’s largest traveling ferris wheel. Gondolas holding up to six riders each will reach a peak height of 155 feet, allowing views of up to 15 miles. Log on here FairFerrisWheel for Sky Eye Wheel hours and tickets.


Food

All over the park! Everything from savory and sweet to deep-fried, vegetarian, and gluten-friendly, there’s a lot of food at the fair. Click on this link FairFood to see a list of food vendors and choose your favorite!


You should check out the fair’s website (listed above) so you can see who’s performing on what stage and when. The fair has lots of free music to enjoy. We guarantee you’ll have a great time, whether you just walk around and visit exhibits and barns, or light up the night on the midway. It’s an ideal family outing!
